This abstract provides a succinct overview of the economic implications of the pandemic by utilizing a range of facts and research that was available as of the knowledge cut-off date in January 2022. Economic activity in several industries was disrupted by the epidemic both temporarily and permanently. Lockdowns and social distancing measures had immediate consequences, such as travel restrictions, business closures, and disruptions to global supply chains. Prior to measures being required for public health, there was a significant economic downturn.
