Factors Affecting the Adoption of Modern Agricultural Practices in Marathwada Region

Abstract

The study of 200 farmers in the drought affected Marathwada region reported several challenges, including labor, scarcity, irregular electricity, supply, water shortage, rising fertilizer prices, increasing production costs, and crop disease. Despite these problems, most respondents remain optimistic and motivated to improve their farming systems. Many farmers received awards and recognition for progressive agriculture, which served as inspiration for others in society. The study also found that farmers aimed to increase income through innovation, modern technology and sustainable farming practices, especially those with smaller land holdings. This study focuses on the positive outcomes of the efforts of various farmers. Farmers who have accepted the challenges and overcome it with management and proper guidance.
