Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly expanded its footprint across multiple sectors, with the pharmaceutical industry emerging as one of its primary beneficiaries. This review underscores the transformative applications of AI across various domains of the pharmaceutical landscape, including drug discovery and development, drug repurposing, optimization of pharmaceutical productivity, and clinical trial enhancement, among others. By automating complex processes and reducing manual workload, AI enables faster decision-making and more efficient achievement of critical milestones. Additionally, this review explores the core tools and methodologies that power AI integration, addresses the current challenges hindering its widespread adoption, and proposes strategies to overcome these barriers, while offering insights into the future trajectory of AI in the pharmaceutical sector.
