Abstract

This research article analyzes the multifaceted impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Indian economy and examines the subsequent recovery process. Utilizing a secondary research methodology, this study synthesizes findings from academic journals, industry reports, and publications from government and international organizations to assess the pre-pandemic economic context, the immediate shock of the pandemic, policy responses, the nature of the recovery across sectors and regions, and the long-term implications for India's growth trajectory, poverty, and inequality. The analysis reveals an uneven recovery with strengths in agriculture and services contrasting with challenges in manufacturing and persistent issues in employment. The article concludes by highlighting the critical need for structural reforms to ensure sustained and inclusive economic growth.
